Introducing . . . The Best in World Rhythm | | What kind of world rhythm instrument are you looking for? Well, maybe Native American is not the type of musical instrument you are looking for. Maybe you’re wondering how to choose a djembe, the iconic goblet-shaped drum of the African continent. Or perhaps you’re on a Middle-Eastern quest and a professional quality doumbek is what you seek. We can’t promise to have all variations of everything, but we think you may find something here that suits the culture, region, and taste that interests you.
Okay, to be honest, drums are more alike than they are different. How many things in the world, natural and man-made, can you use to tap a beat with? For example, when you rap a plastic cup on your leg and enjoy the sound, who can invalidate the experience? On the other hand, you can’t tell someone who’s spent hours entertaining by performing with a finely crafted, professional ashiko, that a coffee can or oil drum would be a suitable substitute. | | Quality . . . it's what matters. At Sinclair Sound, we understand that quality matters and that differences are important. It’s not enough to have a few sizes of generic drums and say this lot over here are meant for playing with the hand, but use a beater on those. One doesn’t have to have a deep knowledge of dholak history or have spent years observing aboriginal instruments, percussion tube, for example (ours is known as a log drum), to appreciate that details in shape, material, construction, and styling are fundamental to each individual instrument we sell. | Parents and Teachers— We’re proud to introduce a selection of kid-friendly percussion. Now, that’s not to say that any of our instruments is meant to be off-limits to the younger set. For example, many people these days are looking for professional bongos for children. Others, however, are looking for world-flavored rhythm that has the look of a toy and the durability of playground equipment. For that combination, you must check out our Kid Percussion from Remo, featuring the colorful Kid Konga, bongos, Gathering Drum, and Tubanos. Because we know how important music is to inner peace and intellectual development, we understand that music education is more than an exercise, physical or otherwise—more than, “Here’s some interesting facts about bongo drums.” We haven’t stopped at drums. We have a wide assortment of handheld percussion, from agogos to castanets to ratchets. Many of these will provide just the right accent for many types of bands, whether it’s latin-flavored or rock. And many of our handheld percussion instruments, such as shakers, are simple to use and so inviting to the newcomer to express the music inside them. Yes, at Sinclair Sound, we know the power of music, even in those that haven’t discovered it . . . yet. | | What's for Sale | Payment Info | Shipping Info | Returns | View Cart | Checkout | Contact Us | Newsletter Drum Info | Percussion Info | Learn How to Play | Find Other Musical Instruments | Site Map
